Vero Beach Homes For Sale / Vero Beach Communities /
In 1975, a group of investors from Kentucky purchased a tract of land on Vero Beach’s barrier island and formed what is now the Kentucky Club. Included in this initial group was comprised of nineteen investors and headed by Lexington developers. Don and Dudley Webb of The Webb Companies were also part of the original group.
Upon completion of what is now referred to as the B Building, the newly formed Vero Beach group managed to sell all the units to buyers from Lexington Kentucky, many of whom were friends. Many of these owners were working class people and most of the B Building units were rented during the season. Many of the renters enjoyed the salubrious winter weather and plethora of activity offered by the Vero Beach area, they eventually became owners themselves.
Kentucky Club condos for sale continue to be some of the most desirable properties in Vero Beach and all of Florida!
The Vero Beach condominiums at for sale at Kentucky Club became so popular that the Webb’s purchased an additional tract of oceanfront property in 1980, adding an additional 200’ of private beach and 25 more units. The addition was dubbed A Building.
As with any oceanfront property, the elements had taken its toll on the exterior of Kentucky Club after twenty five years. So, in 2000 Kentucky Club underwent an extensive exterior make over. But the cosmetic repairs and additions were to be short lived. In 2004 the Vero Beach area was subject to two hurricanes, Frances & Jeanne which resulted in a new roof for both buildings as well as the owners rallying to improve their tropical paradise by remodeling and modernizing all the units, rebuilding the pool and adding pavers along with new, lush tropical landscaping.
